Venetian Plastering

Traditional lime and marble-dust plaster, burnished by hand

Venetian plaster is one of the oldest decorative finishes there is — a paste of slaked lime and fine marble dust, built up in thin coats and burnished until it reads like polished stone. It is applied, not painted: three to four layers, each one troweled, compressed and worked so the surface gains depth and a soft internal glow.

Because it is lime-based, the finish is both waterproof and breathable — which is why it suits interior and exterior walls, ceilings, bathrooms, wet rooms and steam rooms alike. Applied by a master-certified hand, it gives a wall the movement and character of natural marble without a single tile joint.

Venetian Plastering

Built in layers, not brushed on

Each coat is troweled on thin and allowed to draw before the next, then the surface is compressed and burnished. It is that layering — three to four passes — that gives Venetian plaster its depth and its stone-like sheen, and why it can only be done properly by hand.

Waterproof, breathable, and built to last

As a lime finish it resists water while still letting the wall breathe, so it holds up in bathrooms, wet rooms and steam rooms as readily as it does on a feature wall or ceiling — indoors or out.
