How we work
Four stages, and a sample before any of them.
A hand-applied plaster finish is a considered thing to commission. Here's exactly how a project runs with the Venetian Plaster Service — what happens at each stage, and what you get back — starting with a free sample so you decide from the real surface.
01
Consultation and free sample
We talk through the surface, the room and the look you're after, then make you a free handcrafted sample in your chosen colour and finish — matched to RAL, Farrow & Ball or Little Greene — so you decide from the real thing, not a screen.
What you get at this stage
A no-obligation conversation and a free handcrafted sample in your chosen colour, matched to RAL, Farrow & Ball or Little Greene.
02
Specification and preparation
We confirm the right system for the surface and its use — microcement, Venetian, Tadelakt or a decorative finish — and prepare the substrate properly. On a minimum project of around 20 sq m, preparation is what makes a seamless finish possible.
What you get at this stage
The right system confirmed for your surface and its use, and a properly prepared substrate — the groundwork a seamless finish depends on.
03
Hand-applied in layers
The finish is trowelled on by hand in successive layers and burnished to its final sheen. Microcement floors typically run over a 6–7 day install; Venetian and Tadelakt are built up in three to four coats and polished.
What you get at this stage
A finish trowelled on by hand in successive layers and burnished to its final sheen, over a realistic install window.
04
Sealed, logged and handed over
The surface is sealed for its use — waterproof where it needs to be, UV-stable outdoors — and the project is logged with our suppliers, so the exact system, colour and batch behind your finish are on record.
What you get at this stage
A surface sealed for its use, and the exact system, colour and batch logged with our suppliers for the future.

The layer most people never see — the preparation and build-up that decide the finish
