Microcement Wet Room, Beamed Cottage

A wet room in a period property, finished throughout in a soft off-white microcement — walls and floor carried as one seamless waterproof surface beneath original exposed timber beams, with a level-access drain and matte black shower and hand-set.

This is what a waterproof, jointless finish is made for: a level-access wet room with no tiles and no grout, so nothing can fail behind a tile line. A hand-formed recessed shelf and the boxed-in WC are worked into the same continuous surface, and the pale plaster sets off the old beams above.
